A diffusion pump that backstreams, pumps down slowly, or won’t hit its ultimate pressure is usually telling you the pump fluid has degraded and the internals need attention. YTI fully refurbishes diffusion pumps: we strip the pump, remove old fluid and contamination, clean and inspect the jet assembly, verify the boiler and heater, reseal it, and refill it with fresh, correct pump fluid, then leak test and verify performance before it ships.

Full Teardown & Cleaning
Complete disassembly, removal of degraded pump fluid, contamination, and deposits, and thorough cleaning of every internal surface.
Jet Assembly Service
Jet caps and the multi-stage stack cleaned, inspected, and replaced as needed so the pump develops proper pumping action across every stage.
Boiler & Heater Check
Boiler condition and heater performance verified, including Diff-Therm diffusion pump heaters, so the pump reaches operating temperature correctly.
Reseal & New Gaskets
Fresh O-rings and gaskets throughout to restore vacuum integrity and eliminate the seal leaks that undercut ultimate pressure.
Fresh Pump Fluid
Refilled with new, application-correct pump fluid, whether silicone or PFPE, charged to the proper level for stable, clean pumping.
Leak Test & Verification
Helium leak tested and performance verified for pumping speed and ultimate pressure, so the pump is proven before it returns to you.

When to rebuild
Signs your diffusion pump needs refurbishment
Diffusion pumps degrade gradually, so the symptoms creep up on your process. If you recognize any of these, a rebuild will usually restore performance for far less than a new pump.
