Varian HS-6 high-vacuum diffusion pump
The Varian HS-6 is a six-inch water-cooled oil diffusion pump designed for high-vacuum applications where a smaller pumping package is appropriate compared with larger industrial pumps such as the HS-20 or HS-35.
Reference rebuilt-equipment data places the HS-6 at approximately 1,500 liters per second pumping speed. The size makes it useful in vacuum coating systems, laboratory vacuum equipment, thermal processing systems, research installations and other high-vacuum equipment where a six-inch diffusion pump is appropriate.
YTI currently has two HS-6 pumps immediately available and lists the equipment for both sale and rental. That gives customers the option to purchase a replacement or spare pump, or potentially use rental equipment to maintain production while another pump is being repaired or refurbished.
As with any legacy diffusion pump, the model number alone should not determine replacement compatibility. YTI can review the pump inlet, foreline, heaters, cooling arrangement, baffle or trap, backing pump, chamber connection and controls before the replacement unit is prepared.
